SIMULGEO Simulation and reconstruction software for opto-geometrical systems

نویسنده

چکیده

SIMULGEO is a geometrical software developed for the position monitoring system of the CMS detector at the LHC accelerator. This software is capable to model opto-geometrical systems including error propagation and geometrical reconstruction. Thanks to a special description method, any opto-geometrical system can easily be described and analysed. This report explains how to use SIMULGEO, describes the mathematical core, shows the principle of the algorithm of modelling and describes the optimisation made to use SIMULGEO for large systems. The work was partially supported by the Hungarian National Research Fund OTKA T017094 SIMULGEO: simulation and reconstruction software for opto-geometrical systems 2

Comparing geometrical and wave optical algorithms of a novel propagation code applied to the VLTI

Time-dependent modeling of controlled opto-mechanical systems (e.g. astronomical telescopes) is part of the VLTI system engineering work at ESO. For creation of optical models to be integrated within a dynamic Matlab/ Simulink ® simulation, a novel optical modeling tool has been developed. It offers a versatile set of geometrical and wave optical propagation algorithms each with its specific st...

OPTO-ACOUSTIC DATA FUSION FOR SUPPORTING THE GUIDANCE OF REMOTELY OPERATED UNDERWATER VEHICLES (ROVs)

Remotely Operated underwater Vehicles (ROVs) play an important role in a number of operations conducted in shallow and deep water (e.g.: exploration, survey, intervention, etc.), in several application fields like marine science, offshore construction, and underwater archeology. ROVs are usually equipped with different imaging devices, both optical and acoustic. Optical sensors are able to gene...

An Unknown Input Observer for Fault Detection Based on Sliding Mode Observer in Electrical Steering Assist Systems

Steering assist system controls the force transfer behavior of the steering system and improves the steering probability of the vehicle. Moreover, it is an interface between the diver and vehicle. Fault detection in electrical assisted steering systems is a challenging problem due to frequently use of these systems. This paper addresses the fault detection and reconstruction in automotive elect...

New Calibration Scheme for Panoramic Line Scanners

In the DLR department of optical information technology exists long experience and practical knowledge in geometrical calibration of opto-elctronical systems especially CCD-line scanners. An approved method is the single pixel illumination by collimated light. The accuracy of this method depends of the precision of the used goniometer and is in the order of 2 arcsec. The disadvantage of this me...

Integrating Quality Control Tests in a Computed Tomography System

Quality control (QC) is of primary importance for computed tomography systems to obtain reliable data for Non Destructive Testing (NDT). A QC protocol is pursued for the AIMEN dual detector CT by a software add-on update on the reconstruction and visualization software. Image quality parameters are considered following standards and other published papers: uniformity, noise, SNR, contrast, pixe...
